Insights & Signals
Make your notifications worth opening
Timely, personal, actionable signals derived from your customers' financial data. Each one tells them something they didn't know, and gives them something concrete to do about it.
Signals worth listening to
An insight is not a push notification. It's a structured object with up to six elements that banks can adopt together or individually: the signal (what was detected), the customer's personal data, notification text, a rich detail page, concrete actions, and full lifecycle state management from detection through resolution.
Every insight is actionable, personal, and timely. It arrives at the moment of maximum relevance, not before, not after. It's grounded in the customer's actual data, never generic. And it always gives them something concrete to do.
The result is a system that earns attention through accuracy and relevance rather than volume. Silence is better than a wrong signal. When a Subaio insight arrives, the customer thinks: this is always worth my time.

Earned attention, not demanded attention
Every insight competes with dozens of other notifications on a customer's phone. We don't win by being loud or frequent, we win by being the notification that's always worth opening. If the first three insights a customer sees are correct, personal, and useful, they learn that the next one is worth opening too.
The core dynamic is a self-reinforcing loop: accuracy builds trust, trust drives opens, opens deliver value, value deepens trust. If even one insight is wrong or irrelevant, the flywheel breaks. This is why we grade confidence on every signal, and why silence is always better than a wrong call.
Quick wins come first. A new subscription they forgot about. A price increase they didn't notice. A trial about to charge. These high-accuracy, immediately verifiable signals train the behaviour: this system catches things I miss. More complex insights follow once the habit is established.
The trust flywheel
Three lenses on every customer
Every insight sits at the intersection of where someone is in life, what they hold, and what's flowing through their accounts right now.
The customer's life
People go through life stages that fundamentally reshape their financial needs. A young professional accumulating subscriptions has almost nothing in common financially with someone approaching retirement.
- Student and early independence
- Young professional, peak subscription density
- Building, nesting, peak earning
- Transitioning and retirement
Assets & bank products
What the customer holds shapes which insights matter. A mortgage holder with insurance and investments has a fundamentally different insight surface than someone with only a current account.
- Property, mortgage, insurance
- Investments and pension
- Savings accounts and credit products
- Current account only, the starting point
The daily financial life
Every customer lives through a recurring rhythm of financial activity. This is the operational layer, the ground truth from which signals are generated in real time.
- Earning, salary, benefits, side income
- Committing, subscriptions, rent, insurance
- Spending, groceries, dining, transport
- Saving, borrowing, protecting
An insight in action
A customer has 4,200 DKK in their account. Three payments are due before their next salary: Netflix (119 DKK), rent (8,500 DKK), and gym (299 DKK). If salary arrives a day late, they'll be 1,240 DKK short.
The insight fires eight days before the shortfall, with a push notification: "Your account may be short 1,240 DKK around March 3rd. Three payments are due before your next salary." The detail page shows a timeline, the three payments, and historical salary dates for context.
Actions: transfer from savings, reschedule a payment, or dismiss. The customer transfers 2,000 DKK. The insight resolves. If they'd ignored it, it would resurface in their monthly summary: "We flagged a shortfall, it's still open."

Quality over quantity, by design
The catalog contains 88 insight types generating roughly 130 triggers per customer per year. But not every trigger becomes a delivered insight. A governance layer, frequency caps, confidence filtering, relevance-window expiry, and priority ranking, ensures customers receive only what matters, when it matters.
The result: approximately one insight per week. Each one earns its place. Customers who receive one insight a week and find it useful will keep opening. Customers who receive one a day and find half irrelevant will turn notifications off entirely.
Banks control the final layer. Subaio provides best-practice defaults, but every threshold, cap, and priority can be configured. The system is built to work well out of the box and to adapt as banks learn what resonates with their customers.
Designed against failure modes
- The cry-wolf problem
Too many low-value insights → customer stops opening any
- The stale feed
Expired insights still visible → erodes confidence
- The dead end
Insight with no viable action → customer frustrated
- The broken promise
Wrong data → trust destroyed disproportionately
Bank-configurable
Every frequency cap, confidence threshold, and priority ranking can be tuned. Defaults are best practice, built from our experience across European banks. Override what you need, keep what works.
Financial literacy built in
The best moment to teach someone about finance is when it's relevant to their own money. A customer who just saw a price increase on their insurance is ready to learn about shopping around. Someone approaching a negative balance is open to understanding how overdraft fees work. Literacy insights arrive at exactly these moments, grounded in the customer's real situation, not abstract advice.
We provide premade literacy packages that are ready to deploy, covering topics from subscription awareness and savings fundamentals to credit health and pension planning. Every package is fully customisable: adjust the tone, swap in your own content, or extend with topics specific to your market. And if your bank already has financial education programmes in place, we support those too. Existing content, existing voices, existing brand guidelines, our system wraps around what you've built rather than replacing it.
Ready to deploy
- Premade literacy packages across core financial topics
- Fully customisable tone, content, and branding
- Supports your existing financial education programmes
- Delivered at the moment of maximum relevance
From utility to trusted advisor
Banks that invest in genuine financial literacy see measurable shifts in customer behaviour, higher engagement, stronger retention, and a fundamentally different relationship where customers come to the bank first for financial guidance.
From insight to action to goal
The best insights plant a seed. A customer who sees they're spending €340/month on subscriptions starts thinking about what they'd rather do with that money. A balance forecast that flags a shortfall raises the question of whether an emergency fund would help. The moment of understanding is the moment of highest motivation, so our platform connects insights directly to goal suggestions.
The connection runs both ways. Goals generate their own insights, progress updates, course corrections, and streak celebrations that keep customers engaged over months. Together, insights and goals create a continuous loop: understand, act, track, learn, repeat.
Insights that spark goals
- Spending insight → savings goal suggestion
- Balance forecast → emergency fund goal
- Credit alert → debt reduction plan
- Pension check → retirement contribution goal

Curated for your customers
The insight catalog is universal, but specific customer segments have distinct needs. Pre-built packages tune the selection, tone, and literacy depth for each audience.
Young adults
18–29 · The formative segment. Financial habits are being set, subscription density is at its peak, and literacy gaps are widest.
- High literacy content, shorter formats
- Subscription and spending awareness focus
- Video, AI chat, relatable educators
Affluent customers
Wealth efficiency, not affordability. Investment awareness, tax efficiency, insurance adequacy, idle cash optimisation.
- Opportunity and optimisation emphasis
- Lower frequency, higher signal quality
- Bank-branded expert voice
Sole proprietors
Business and personal spending tangled in one account. Insights help separate what the bank's infrastructure cannot.
- Business vs. personal tagging layer
- Tax-relevant summaries and categorisation
- Small-business financial management literacy
