Subaio launches subscription management for business accounts

Customer Stories

Subaio has introduced a subscription management service designed specifically for business accounts, with challenger bank Lunar as the first to launch the new offering.

The problem

Research shows companies struggle to track their subscription expenses. According to a 2019 Blissfully study, businesses average eight subscriptions per employee. However, Gartner reports that 30% of these subscriptions go unused, representing significant waste.

CEO Thomas Laursen explained: “We’ve interviewed numerous companies about their subscriptions, and they all say the same — none of them have an overview of their subscriptions.”

The solution

Subaio’s white-label service automatically analyzes recurring payments from business accounts, providing:

  • Complete overview of recurring expenses
  • Identification of savings opportunities
  • Alerts when payments change

The solution requires no manual labor or business input — automation handles everything.

Market opportunity

Small to medium enterprises with fewer than 200 employees spend over €1,800 annually per employee on subscriptions. With 30% unused, the savings potential is substantial.

Jacob Faber, Head of Lunar Business, stated: “We know that subscriptions are one of the major expenses for small businesses, which is why we are excited to provide an overview that entrepreneurs cannot get elsewhere.”

Future expansion

Subaio operates as a pure white-label provider, offering infrastructure to banks, accounting systems, and cash management platforms. The company already partners with eight banks, including Nordea and ABN AMRO, for consumer products.
