First subscription management service for banks to cross borders

Customer Stories

Subaio’s subscription management service has crossed borders. With the launch at Bulder Bank in Norway, Subaio became the first white-label subscription management solution to operate across multiple countries with different banking partners.

The expansion

Following the successful launch with Nordea in Denmark, Subaio partnered with Bulder Bank, a mobile-only bank created by Sparebanken Vest, to bring subscription management to Norwegian consumers.

The solution allows Bulder Bank customers to:

  • View all their active subscriptions in one place
  • Cancel unwanted services directly through the bank interface
  • Gain control over their recurring payments

“We are proud to enter the Norwegian market with Bulder Bank.”

— Thomas Laursen, CEO, Subaio

Why subscription management matters

The market data tells a clear story:

  • 100% yearly growth in subscription numbers over five years (McKinsey)
  • 60% of users have unused or forgotten subscriptions (YouGov)
  • 35% of consumers want their bank to offer subscription management (Cicero Consulting)

The demand is real, and banks are in a unique position to help customers take control.

Immediate impact

When customers see their complete subscription overview for the first time, the reaction is often immediate. Many cancel multiple subscriptions on the spot, services they’d forgotten about or no longer use.

This instant value creation builds trust and engagement, demonstrating that the bank is actively helping customers manage their financial lives.

A milestone for the industry

This cross-border deployment proved that subscription management could scale beyond a single market. The same technology, adapted for local requirements, could serve banks across different countries.

With additional banks in the pipeline, Subaio set its sights on expansion beyond the Nordic region, bringing subscription visibility to banking customers across Europe.

Key takeaways

  1. Scalable technology, the same solution works across markets with different banking partners
  2. Universal demand, customers everywhere struggle with subscription visibility
  3. Bank opportunity, financial institutions are trusted partners for managing recurring payments
  4. Immediate action, visibility leads directly to customer action and savings
